27 – 29 May 2013

A NARNIA Project Training Course

at University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense

Maison Archéologie & Ethnologie (MAE), Floor 4

Programme

NARNIA is an interdisciplinary project, the main objective of which is to provide young researchers with the means to conduct research on ancient Eastern Mediterranean material culture and to develop their analytical skills through a series of research and training activities.

Subject of this training course, the application of information systems in the recording and dissemination of information has become one of the main fields of contemporary interdisciplinary research. Through case studies, the workshop will examine and evaluate the effectiveness and durability of different systems employed during the last few decades. Furthermore, the workshop will deal with the application of innovative methods and the development of a variety of tools for organizations involved in the archaeological research and in the management of cultural heritage : computer generated images 2D & 3D, GIS, multilingual and pictorial databases, digital resources and accessible databases on the Web.
